About Jorge Borrego
Jorge truly embodies the American Dream—he was born and raised in Texas under circumstances that would have tested anyone. His father spent much of his early life in prison, and his mother was in and out of the home. Yet those very challenges forged his determination. Through grit and relentless self-determination—values Texans hold dear—he became the first in his family to earn a college degree. He built a loving family of his own, carved out a respected role in Texas policy, and grew a successful business from the ground up.
This isn’t just his personal story—it reflects a larger Texas narrative of resilience and opportunity. He wants every Texan to know that no matter where you start, you have the power to shape your own future. That is the spirit he brings to his work every single day.

“I’m running for the Texas House in District 118 because my own journey reflects the spirit of South San Antonio — resilience, determination, and hope. I want to ensure every family has opportunity, strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and a voice that truly understands our community.”

Why He’s Running
Jorge is running for the Texas House in District 118 because his own journey reflects the spirit of South San Antonio—a spirit of resilience, determination, and hope. Having lived many of the same challenges that families in the district face, he knows what it takes to turn adversity into a brighter future.
His focus is ensuring that every hardworking person in the district has access to opportunity, that children receive a strong education, and that neighborhoods remain safe and affordable. More than anything, he is running to give the community a voice that understands its struggles and shares its dreams. Together, he believes, the future of South San Antonio can be as strong and hopeful as the people who call it home.
